We are discussing to include a chat room on the forum. The chat would be open only to Alumni, Associate and Staff Members. (That's the basic idea at least.)

However, before expanding the forum with additional modules we would like to have your opinion as a user of the forum! Would you use a chat if installed or not? Give us your opinion in the poll above!

Sounds like a good idea, but how much of the system resources will it use? I say go for it, if it doesn’t work out we'll just remove it.

The chat will be perl based, so the resources used will be minimal.
Let's hear what our users think! Pro or con chat?

Hello to all !

I'm in favor of the chat. It will be good because it allows for instant feedback.

Regards

In my opinion, even if the chat is perl based and the resources minimal, it takes more time and effort to install it to what its worth. If users are intrested in a internet based conversation for a quick feedback it is much easier and more safe to share the e-mail adresses and use utilities like e.g. msn or skype.
